Portfolio & Watch Dock.

A study in material contrast and precision joinery. This custom walnut housing utilizes a hybrid workflow—pairing 3-axis CNC machining with 3D-printed porcelain to create a high-fidelity tactile experience.

01 | Digital Logic & Modeling

The workflow began with a detailed 3D Rhino model of the portfolio box and watch dock. This phase focused on resolving complex joinery and the digital sculpting of a 3D logo, ensuring every component was calibrated for a perfect friction-fit before any material was cut.

02 | RhinoCAM Toolpathing

Using RhinoCAM, I developed 3-axis toolpaths specifically for hardwood “shorts.” By utilizing a custom mechanical jig, I was able to translate the digital 3D logo and pocketing routines into high-torque machining strategies that maintained millimeter-level accuracy across the walnut grain.

03 | Hybrid Fabrication

Assembly &
Integration

The final phase integrated 3D-printed porcelain into the CNC-machined walnut housing. The porcelain logo was toolpathed in RhinoCAM to ensure a seamless inset, creating a tactile contrast between the industrial ceramic finish and the warm, hand-oiled hardwood.

Apple Watch Dock

Product Design | A study in kinetic elegance and tactile precision. Inspired by the silhouette of a spinning top, this dock utilizes a solid 316L stainless steel core and a hidden ball-plunger system to provide a secure, click-into-place housing for interchangeable shells—transforming the Apple Watch into a sculptural bedside centerpiece.
