The Khmer Legacy

Angkor Archaeological Park | Cambodia

“Angkor is a dialogue between stone and jungle—a place where monumental architecture has spent centuries being slowly reclaimed by nature. Walking through these temples feels like witnessing a masterclass in how design, given enough time, becomes one with the earth.”

Reflections

“This collection explores the contrast between the human scale and the divine scale. In the presence of Angkor’s towering faces and sprawling sandstone galleries, the individual becomes a fleeting observer of an architectural legacy designed to last for eternity.”

Summary

The Divine
Scale

Documented during a regional study in 2015, this series explores the Khmer architectural legacy of the Angkor Archaeological Park. The collection focuses on the tension between permanent sandstone structures and the relentless organic growth of the jungle—a study of how monumental design transitions from a statement of human power to a part of the natural landscape.
